Your Cascadia Trading Post needs things to trade, i.e gift to people who are willing to risk undergoing the terrible trials we have in store for them. Were having a little get-together at the Barn on Sunday the 10th to create some. If youve ever enjoyed making mutant toys, youll enjoy this. Also if you havent. Also if you have no idea what Im talking about. Youll enjoy it. Taking apart stuff and making it into other stuff is a lot of fun, and youll probably leave feeling like an accomplished artist. Were also looking for trade items that are ready to go as they are. The short version is that we want stuff that wouldnt look too out of place in an Oregon Trail setting. And fits in one of the many dressers and cabinets and other drawers in our space. The long version follows: We are also seeking items that dont need to be mutated. You can bring them by during the craft-making session, find one of us any Woosday*, or contact Zach Sparrow or Chris Schneider for other drop-off times and locations. Most important, were looking for things that people will actually want to take home from the playa. After that... • Toys, tools, appliances, doo-dads, books, postcards, playa gear, hats, accessories, souvenirs, etc. . . • New or used. • Will fit in our tight little drawers (smaller than a telephone book) • Wont burst our rough pioneer sacks (no bigger than a grapefruit) • If its bigger than that, it should look nice sitting on our shelves or resting against a wall. We dont want. . . • Your junk. We dont want your junk in our drawers or anywhere else around our Post. • Anything that we will need to fix, mutate, clean, upgrade, decontaminate, etc. • Books that dont have at least some little connection to the theme or to the event. • Anything that will shed moop. If your thing is totally freakin amazing, we will try our best to take it no matter how big, garish or inappropriate it is. And we do have some other bigger drawers to fill, so if you think that your thing might fit, bring it over and we can worth together to stuff it in there. * Holy crap, that should say the next two Woosdays
