Your INCREASE: The Oxford Fire Department is seeking taxpayer-approved increase of 1.0 mill, which will only increase taxes by $0.20 per day based on the average homeowners taxable value in Oxford Township. This increase will be used to hire two more career fire-suppression/paramedics. This addition would staff the 2 stations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with 2 personnel per station. The Fire Department also would begin filling a part-time position for 12 hours per day, 365 days per year with a fire-suppression/EMT to assist the career personnel with emergency calls during peak hours.
