Your Red Cross Bulletin: Philippines - Typhoon Utor (Labuyo) The Red Cross is assisting in evacuation efforts in the Philippines following the landfall of Typhoon Utor early this morning. A Red Cross team in Aurora reports limited damage although some roads have been blocked by fallen trees and power and communications lines are down in parts of the province. Red Cross teams are on stand-by with relief supplies, vehicles, search and rescue boats and other equipment as required. Head of the Philippines Red Cross, Gwendolyn Pang says the storm has now moved from coastal areas to regions which are more mountainous. "The threat is swelling of river and possible landslide in the different mountainous area. The area is very strong and very fast. Hopefully it will leave the country by this afternoon." The typhoon hit the coast with sustained wind speeds of around 165 km/h and gusts of up to 200 km/h. Please share to help us keep people informed. Thank you.
