Your bare skin & face are in constant contact with the mat so it is important to keep your yoga mat as clean as possible specially if your mat doesnt have built in anti-microbial properties. The cleaning process is fairly easy you can purchase mat cleaners or wipes like Manduka Mat Renew spray, Mat restores spray, or Jo-sha wipes. If you do not wish to purchase mat cleaners you can chose to make a diy spray at home: 1) Mix water & vinegar in a spray bottle with a ration of 3 (water) to 1 (vinegar) 2) Ass a few drops of tea tree oil to your bottle with a few drops of lavender oil, or any other desired scent. 3) Spray and wipe your mat down after every use. You can also use a few drops of dish soap mixed with water and a terry cloth rag to wipe it down. Once finished wipe mat with clean water, then rub with a dry terry cloth towel and hang to dry. All these are fairly easy steps to keep your mat & skin clean! If on the go always carry baby wipes in your yoga bag to wipe your hands and feet clean before each practice! manduka/us/shop/categories/products/props-accessories/?dd
