There is also potential for this facility to sell tours. The CTGA has started initial negotiations with UBER representatives in Cape Town to ascertain the viability for us to make this system available to our members. One of the issues is the current permitting conditions for tourism vehicles. Another is that we will not purposefully take work away from legitimate Taxis and create a negative relationship with other transport service providers. We urge that if you are asked by an employer to drive a vehicle or that if you own your own permitted vehicle that you read and understand the conditions of that vehicles permit. Many tourism vehicles are not permitted to do a transfer of any sort unless it is part of an organised tour. If you cross this line then the risk is much higher than merely being given a fine if you are caught, you need to look at the risks involved in the event of an accident.
