Your cortisol level jumps when you fight with someone (=perceived threat). Cortisol is that hormone that causes weight gain around the mid-section, amongst other bad things in your body (in excess levels). Is it worth the cortisol level increase to fight back? How important is this person / fight to you? If its not that important...just walk away. Always ask yourself: IS IT WORTH YOUR HEALTH?
