Your loss is inconsolable to us, Reetam. Its still hard to believe that you are no more among us. It hurts me to say this. I have known you since 2003.You have always been a big cricket fan, more passionate than me and most guys i have known. We have played together so often. I always batted first and you bowled. Sometimes i made you sweat for over two hoursin the sultry heat. It was mean of me. You would say you loved to bowl. But then you would have the bat in your hands and that would bring that sparkling smile on your face. Oh man, i love your smile. Nothing even compares. You would then proceed to bat like dhoni. Exactly like him, i dare say. The square cuts, the drives, the pulls, the helicopters... and the leaves.. yes the leaves too. I loved our talks, discussions, arguments on cricket. Sometimes i would abuse dhoni just to stir you up. you would calmly agree. I tried to teach you so much, instead it was you who taught me a lot. To treat every situation with equanimity. You were a terrific friend and a shoulder to lean upon for me. You were a true competitor, you never gave an inch. Yet you were so gentle. I wish i could be more like that. I used to annoy you by pulling your cheeks and your hair. and then you would chase me. Chase me all over the place until you had your laugh. And you were serious about your books too. Never missed schools. Unless it happened to coincide with an important India match. Then nothing could shake your resolute to support India and dhoni. The other day, the Lords test match, I was grim about Indias chances and you kept reaffirming your belief that India would win. And India did win. You were the happiest person i could imagine. We have spent enough time, with lots of memories to last me my lifetime. But i still crave for one more day with you. One more match. And i promise you, Reetam you shall have the bat first. But only if you would come back. I love you, Reetam. You will always be in my heart.
