Your vehicle is talking to you. But are you listing ??? People that have many years driving experience know just what I am talking about. Right? Or do you. It’s like learning another language .. Car-speak, the squeaks , thumps, buzz, the seat of the pants, gut feeling there is just something not quite right. I find most people hear it, they just don’t listen or worse don’t care. You should care. My favorite customers are the ones that give me a detailed and accurate account of the sounds they hear and when they hear them, the smells, and those feelings. More often than not it points me right to the issue. That information given to me or any good technician will save you BIG money and get your car fixed much faster and back on the road. I equate it much like going to your doctor and saying.. Hey Doc, I hurt.... Nothing more. Now just tell me how is he going to find the problem?. Sure with enough tests and time (money) sooner or later he will find it. I get it all the time. My car doesn’t run right… nothing more. Then I have to start being like a detective. Asking question after question. Some folks even get irritated with me for asking too much. Hey .. I am just doing my job. Some times I just want to say.. come on, give me something to work with here!! Help me help you. Some times I say to myself, why should I care, I get paid by the hour. But that’s not me. So next time you bring your ride in to be serviced give the Tech all the insight you can. Even if you don’t understand what it may be, or it may seem silly to you. If he is a good Tech he will understand “car-speak” even if you do not. And translate it into a lower repair bill for you. Happy trails.....
