Your votes make Indian rule more stronger in Kashmir, Geelani to Nation Asking Kashmiri youth to join the ranks of Tehreek-i-Hurri yat, Syed Ali Geelani Friday said that Pakistan should not hold dialogue with the Government of India unless New Delhi does not agree upon meaningful deliberations on Kashmir. “The solution of Kashmir problem lies in UN resolutions. Freedom Struggle will continue in Kashmir till the issue is not resolved,” Geelani said while addressing a mammoth gathering in Frontier district Kupwara. Shortly after offering Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid Kupwara, Geelani addressed the huge gathering in Mainchowk and appealed people to part ways with the mainstream politicians and support the ongoing freedom struggle so that we can take it to its logical conclusion. He appealed people to boycott the Assembly and Parliament elections. “New Delhi presents these elections in a wrong way and gives an impression to the world community that people of Kashmir have reposed their faith in Indian democracy,” he said. Geelani reminded people about the atrocities committed by Government Forces in Kashmir and said that nobody can forget the incidents like Badrapayeen, Bijbehara, Kupwara and Handwara massacre. “Indian Navy intentionally killed our 22 children after drowning them into Wullar Lake. “Indian Army killed 22 innocent people in Kupwara and 27 in Handwara. Did you forget the incident when 30 RR personnel from Indian Army cordoned off Jagarpora area of Langete and killed father Ibrahim Dar and his son Rashid Dar in cold blood. I appeal you to boycott polls. Your votes make Indian rule more stronger in Kashmir,” Geelani said. Geelani alleged the jail inmates are subjected to “ill-treatment at the hands of jail authorities. “The food items provided them are of sub- standard quality and no medical facilities are being provided to the ailing detenues,” he said. “I want to reiterate that covert tactics of police won’t deter us or Kashmiris from perusing the goal. We will strive until were achieve right to self-determinat ion,” he said. Geelani appealed Amnesty International to take notice of the plight of Kashmiri detainees and ensure their immediate release. Geelani accused the government of launching a campaign to frame innocent youth. “Hundreds of citizens are languishing in jails under false and baseless cases. In most of these cases, the accused are not presented in court for hearing thus prolonging their illegal detention,” he said. Talking about the mainstream political parties, Geelani said, “They are collaborators for continuing Indian rule in Kashmir. Pro-India political parties always brokered our natural resources for their power.” Ridiculing both National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and their thought process,Geelani said that solutions like the self-rule of the PDP or the autonomy proposed by the ruling National Conference (NC) or any other option offered by other mainstream political parties would not be accepted by Kashmiris. He said that India is buying time and is not interested in meaningful dialogue on Kashmir issue with Pakistan. “Pakistan should hold only meaningful dialogue with Government of India,” he said
