You’ve heard about the bikers who assaulted a family in Manhattan. But I’ll bet you haven’t heard about the Huck’s Hero who protected them…By now, you know the grim details: the bikers who attacked a family in an SUV in New York as the mother held her baby and screamed. The cyclist who was run over when the dad attempted to flee, and the bikers who dragged him out and beat him viciously. But have you heard of Sergio Consuegra? He was just walking past and could have kept going. Instead, he stepped between the bikers and the dad. He said he “felt intense danger,” but he told the bikers he didn’t want a confrontation, just to cool things down. Luckily, the police arrived. Consuegra said it was just “a simple gesture…to send a message to all that whenever they see a family in crisis, no matter the circumstances, when they cry for help, be there for them." I’d add that it’s no surprise to me that when all this went down, and Good Samaritan Sergio Consuegra put his own life on the line to help, he was on his way to church.
