ZANU PF is adamant that it will go ahead with setting up the Sovereign Wealth Fund regardless of the prevailing conditions. Khona vele really, where is the sovereignty and where is the wealth to set up the fund? Do we have any sovereignty when the country is using currencies from nine different countries as official currencies and corruption remains THE lifestyle? Where is the wealth to talk about when the budget has a huge deficit, the country is extremely indebted, very broke and unproductive? Where are the honest people that are going to administer the fund without looting from it? The MP from Chiredzi North tells parliament that we must all call Finance Minister Chinamasa the Giraffe of Zimbabwe!!!! How does the tall Giraffe help us here on the ground by telling and promising us wonders and joys of things he sees beyond a flooded river when we are not sure if we will ever cross the river in the first place? Cde Giraffe, please address the immediate challenges we are faced with first then start talking of things beyond the flooded river. Are the Civil servants really going to be paid their money in a weeks time, when there is no fuel to ferry prisoners to court? When there is no fuel to send ambulances to pick up patients to go and die in some dignity in drugless hospitals??? If we are in the river, please not all of us are giraffes, perhaps you the tall guys are still head above the water, we the small ones are drowning down here and need solutions to our current problems first so we can maybe move together otherwise we dont see what you see. Put that idea aside for now its not what we want now.
