Zain playing in the rain puddle outside Dominos Pizza. Theres a little story behind rain puddles for us, which I want to share. Most mothers naturally start to panic when their child runs toward a big rain or mud puddle, with the knowing theyre about to get drenched or muddy. Well, just after diagnosis, we were coming out of a local convenient store. Zain saw a small rain puddle beside our vehicle and looked at me as if to say Mommy..e on...please??, Not long did I resist, with the thought of We dont have room or time to sweat the small stuff any more!!, and told him to go ahead. So he and Star proceed to jump in the puddle, instantly soaking their shoes, and pants around the bottom. Then, I spotted about a 6ft puddle over by the gas tanks. I said Zain, (he looks at me and asks Huhh??), and said to him Go play in that puddle over there!! (excitedly). He looked at me in disbelief, and with question...lol. He could NOT believe I had just told him to do that, AND with an excited smile...and neither could Star. He looked at me and asked That one??? (still with a puzzled expression). Yes, I replied. They took off running to that puddle so excited and happy, and played for about 10 minutes...and were drenched from head to toe!! It was a very beautiful, and most especially significant, moment. We always make sure to play and dance in the rain, and never sweat the small stuff!!!
