People say theyre a threat, so they all must be, right? Cast them out of this country! Obviously the exact opposite of my views, but more just an attempt to paraphrase a lot of the negativity circulating of late in relation to Muslims and the Islamic threat. While one cannot deny the terrible things occurring at the moment in the Middle East, this in no way makes it acceptable to discriminates against, abuse and ridicule a fellow human being. I am hearing too many accounts of innocent Muslim women being abused in some form in the streets of this very county just for being who they are. This is not an attitude I support and makes me ashamed of this country. I thought we lived in a community of tolerance, and acceptance, not hate and exclusion. My personal favourite kind of post circulating is the Australia, Fit in or F#ck Off! What an absolutely disgusting message to be spreading. What does it even mean to fit into this country? A country so young it would be hard to define any sort of national identity. This is largely due to the fact that Australia has always been melting pot of culture and diversity. Yet some people feel threatened by the very notion of someone not conforming to the Aussie way of life. I do not support hate, racism or discrimination in any form, directed at any one (this goes both ways). Instead I encourage people to research topics as deep and as relevant as this before making unfair, uneducated, hurtful comments towards others. Just to get you started, Muslims protesting ISIS (no wayyyy!!!)
