“Zen-like Tranquility” Reviewed 07/04/14 This is such a welcoming, relaxing hostel. Very close walk to Florida Rd bars & restaurants and also to a supermarket. Just a little longer walk to the beach. The reception area has wonderful native crafts for sale and the owner Elmar lives on site so the whole place is so well appointed with gallery style art works and beautiful gardens and pool with covered lounge areas and patios. The airport shuttle bus drops right at the hostel gate. There are combination safes for storing your laptop, passport, etc. Elmar was able to arrange my transport to Underberg so I could go up the Sani Pass to Lesotho for a day trip. My only regret is that I wasnt able to stay longer! I have been telling others about Gibela as I have continued on with my travels as I highly recommend this hostel.
