Zimbabwean singer Cynthia Mare lost her mother to cancer two years ago. Although she received much support from her family, Cynthia found the most solace in music. Since her mother’s death was so sudden, Cynthia felt that there was no time to say a proper goodbye. So right after the funeral she dived into the studio and wrote ‘Zuva Rimwe’ – which means ‘One day’ in Shona. If they had had more time together, Cynthia would make sure her mother knew the extent of her daughter’s love. Listen to these stories and more in this week’s episode of My Song:
