Zimbabweans we need to focus on more progressive political - TopicsExpress

Zimbabweans we need to focus on more progressive political solutions rather than just focusing on opposition politics without counter proposals capable of delivering effective solutions. We seem to be in election mode, focusing on the politics more than the debates that can lead to transformable solutions. Its important to appreciate and utilise the election period to campaign against government policy but once the results and the winner is annouced its equally important to refocus and concentrate on seeking ideas that are capable of helping develop the nation until the next election phase. I think as we seek to address societies economic challenges and issues of sustainability of government and parastatals, we should strive for perfection through openly and sincerely highlighting tany flaws we see in government process, but equally strive to seek viable alternatives that lead to results rather than just seek to criticise and destroy because of a vindictive past. It is also equally important for government to acknowlege their failures if they are to help citizens find effective solutions to reverse those failures that have plagued the system for the past couple of years. As long as we continue in this negative culture of PHD [Pull Him/Her down] as if we are in constant election mood, we will remain in a cycle of perpertual confusion and regression. I am not naive to ignore the anger that people continue to harbour because of a negative historical past that borders on various unresolved issues and the open display of in-action by those in positions of authority on matters of corruption that have clearly contributed to the never ending problems faced by our society. Theres a need to have a sober approach in finding progressive compromise in the way we work together if Zimbabwe is to become the bread basket of Africa once again. We need to redirect our negative energy into positive outcomes, and it starts with you and me where ever we are.
