*** Zong Football Fever - 2014 *** ROUND OF 24: Red Devils 1 - 0 OPF Omer Mashood scores the only goal of the game, 5 minutes from full time, to take Devils to the last 12 of the tournament. Ammar started in the goal behind Sameer and Panja, Saad Munawar and Zaki started in the middle with Ali and Harris up ahead. Butt, Omer Mashood, Janu and the injured Usman Mashood formed the bench. Devils had the better of the openings in a cagey first half, Ali squandering the best chance of the half. With regular introduction of Butt, Janu and Omer on the field, the moves kept coming in the second half, however Devils had to wait till the final 5 minutes of the game to get the lead. Butt and Ali combined brilliantly to release Omer on goal, who obliged with a brilliant left footed finish. Man of the Match: Omer Mashood ************************************************************************************** ROUND OF 12: Red Devils 0 (3) - (2) 0 Dunda FC Zaki Ahmed Zaki blasted home the all important final penalty to take Devils through to the last 6 of the tournament. Playing the second game of the day, Devils looked visibly tired and hence failed to make any real openings in the first half. The defence on the other end stayed on its feet to deny any attacks by the opposition. Butt had the best opportunity of the game when he found himself open right infront of goal, however the star striker was unable to anticipate the ball making its way to him and hence couldnt put the ball in the back of the net. Ali Taimoor then rattled the frame twice. The goal never came for the Devils as the referee blew the final whistle to take the game to penalties. Dunda FC converted their first penalty, followed by Harris calmly slotting in his penalty in the away ground atmosphere. Ammar then saved Dunda FCs second penalty. Saad Munawar stepped up for the second penalty and converted it to make it 2-1 in the favor of the boys in red. Dunda converted their last penalty before Zaki Ahmed fired home the winning penalty to spark wild Sturridge celebrations by the Devils. Man of the Match: Ammar
