Zumas wife caught in blackmail drama. Stephen Ongolo contacted local newspapers stating he had received payments from the first lady to R200 000. Ongolo was hired by Zumas wife to secure mining rights in the Democratic Republic of Congo Ongolo claims to know all MaNtuli’s secrets – particularly about her relationship with her bodyguard Phinda Thomo. Ongolo also spells out the details of an alleged plot to kill Thomo. He claims Thomo was murdered. (At the time of the bodyguard’s death, newspapers reported that Thomo had killed himself after learning that a Zulu newspaper was working on a story about an alleged affair between him and the first lady who later became pregnant)
