A university lecturer will always not fail to remind you how poor they are paid and how the councilor and LGA chairman earns more than a professor and how their once students who work in the oil sector earns so much. However, they won’t remind you that for any one of their students who work in the oil sector, hundreds are still unemployed. We all agree that the councilors and chairmen are petty thieves and crooks. So my prof wants to be a petty thief too? 7. You can stand in front of the religious congregation and by “faith” pledge to donate 1 million bucks meanwhile your salary is about 200k per month and it is going to take you 4 years to save 1million quid, and your religious leader is not perturbed and is preaching against corruption? 8. The confirmed dead are religiously receiving their pension while the aged and living are always marched to the state capital for pension verification and harmonization that never comes 9. The governor gets paid all his pension and gratuity immediately he leaves office, while those who have served for 35 years and over never gets paid anything 10. There are 6000 people on the monthly pay roll, 3000 of them are confirmed “ghost” workers no known date of birth, no known qualification. Interestingly, they get paid before other worker (irrevocable standing order deductions). I can give them an exorcist for free!! Of the remaining 3000, 1500 are on study leave, training or one leave or the other but never seen. the remaining 1500, 500 are on maternity leave (we never get invited to any dedication or naming ceremony), then the next 500 just stepped out of the office “don’t bother waiting they are not coming back as they weren’t even there” 400 are on annual leave then the remaining 100 that you see around, 60 are involved peeling egusi and other forms of menial business in the office. You now know why your forms never get treated 11. University lecturers will always remind us that they are critical and primary stake holders in our university system, in summary the alpha and omega of the university system. Nobody bothers to ask the students what their interests are. I would have thought that the universities were built for the students and not for the lecturers who are mere workers in the uni. 12. A Doctor employed in A state runs a thriving medical practice in D state and only visits his place of duty whenever he wants, interestingly, he is almost always telling you how the government has neglected the health system leading to rise in mortality and morbidity! Interestingly, we all know about these things and have a good idea what can be done, but nobody does anything. THAT IS THE ULTIMATE FRAUD!!!
