Farnazo) - Secondary A commencement exercise that happens every year always sends the same message to everyone: It serves as hope for the graduate who invested time, sweat, perseverance and patience to a dream he had woven at the start. It gives assurance for the parents that their son or daughter will have a bright future. It provides the community a promise that soon, a batch of productive individuals will become their backbones. However, when disastrous events beset our country one after the other last year, these hopes, assurances and promises were also wiped away. A number of our learners in the affected part of the country are no longer able to weave their dreams. Some had been greatly affected that for some time, they thought they can never recover. Most of them lost the drive to start all over again. But then, as proven time and again by our nation, oneness in spirit and actions can really do wonders even amidst disasters and calamities. That our faith in our Maker can keep us up from all trials and challenges. We were able to show the world that nothing can put the Filipino spirit down. Dear graduates, count yourselves lucky because you are not in their situations and you are among those who can go on weaving their dreams toward realization. Consider yourselves luckier because you were able to give your support to your fellow learners who were affected and helped them get back on their feet to face their lives anew. So then, as you march onstage to receive your diploma, take to your heart a lesson learned from everything that had happened.
