The collegiate Church of Saint Blaise was build in the Brogue style from 1707 - 1715...in Croatia...Ever since 972 St. Blaise is celebrated. ..On February 3, 2009 Bishop Nareg Alemezian ecumenical officer of Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, was invited to participate in the celebration of the 1038th Day of St. Blaise when UNESCO declared the Saints Day on the representative list of Intangible cultural heritage of humanity....(some of the above is from the Armenian Observer. by Ruth Bedevian...) ..........The following info is from Saints by Rosa Giorgi.... Protector--- of Pastors, farmers, wool combers, players of wind instruments, mattress makers and throat specialist....Blaise is of Latin origin and means Lipsing..However the article by Rosa says it is of Greek as Blasios...... In the Armenian Church he is know as St. Vlas..and he is commemorated...
