a wild story with a happy ending... Back in november, before the cold and the snow, WVMC had a beautiful female red-tail hawk come in to be seen. She was found to have a badly fractured leg, which is not good news if you are a raptor... But since these birds are such an important part of our ecosystem and a wonder to see soaring overhead....Dr. Wright and his staff felt they needed to do all they could to save this bird... After careful surgery to pin her leg, she was sent to thePocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, where she would be rehabilitated and returned back to the wild. After many months of rehabilitation with the amazing directors (kathi and eric) and her incredible staff of volunteers, she was given to go to be released. On this occasion, WVMC, and Dr. Wright personally, were given the privilege of releasing her. On may 30th 2014, that is just what we did!
