a3 The Illyrian Myth of Kosovo... by Wm. Dorich In a letter to Charles Kraus of Mac-Neil-Lehrer News Hour on July 9, 1993 in which Kruas made numerous errors about the history of Kosovo, (all of course spoon-fed to him by ignorant, uneducated Albanians, or worse Albanian propagandists) I prepared a letter to his television network. Kraus was one of a few to have the courage to telephone me with an apology. Here is what Kraus said: I apologize for the number of historical errors in our broadcast...the producer was well aware of the errors before the broadcast aired and decided not to edit out the misrepresentations. There, folks, is the mentality of the American media. I will reproduce the final two paragraph of that letter here that reveals the hideous historical revisionism taking place in Kosovo today as many Albanians are now claiming that 12th and 13th century Serbian churches were Albanian churches that the Serbs confiscated...this is pure rubbish especially considering that Albanians in the 12th and 13th centuries represented less than 2% of the region and were incapable of building these churches. The frescoes on the walls showing an image of the builder and a scale model of the church betray their lies and manipulation of historical facts. Here are my closing remarks in that letter to Kraus and Mac-Neil Lehrer News Hour... In the 1970s Albanologists spread rumors that they were on the verge of finding archeological evidence that the Albanians were direct descendants of Illyrians. Millions of dollars came in from Tirana, Iran, and Turkey. But, there was no such evidence to be found. During the construction of the dam on the Fierza River project which flooded parts of Metohija, in the archeological remnants were discovered remains of flooded Vrbnica. The Kosovo Albanian experts were ready to believe it a godsend that they had finally after all of these centuries found their traces of an Illyrian settlement. The money came pouring in for additional research. Meanwhile, the discovery turned out to be remnants of Slav culture and suddenly all financial assistance was discontinued and the project was abandoned. In view of the Albanian autonomous control by individuals like Professor Ismajli at Pristina University who did not think that the Serbian people deserved any enlightenment of these discoveries he encouraged Albanian authorities to sunk the site in the newly created lake. For those of us who take the time to research and read ancient documents, these documents rarely mention Albanians on the European continent....what you will find are remarks like this...Until the 13th century, Albanians do not represent a significant clear historical entity, being nomadic shepherds, highlanders far from the sea with an ethnically vague identity, the words written by Dimitrije Bogdanovic (1929-1986) an internationally recognized Balkan historian. The actual presence of Albanians in Kosovo is mentioned for the first time by Emperor Dusan (1331-1355) in his title Emperor of the Serbs, Greeks, Bulgars and Arbanasi (Albanians.). Those same historical documents also indicate that the number of Arbanasi were an insignificant 2% concentrated in the mountainous west of what is todays Serbian and Albanian borders. In ancient history dating to ad 395 the empire was finally divided, and Illyria east of the Drinus River (the Drina, in modern Yugoslavia) became part of the Eastern Empire. Between the 3rd and the 5th century it was devastated by the Visigoths and the Huns, who left NO LASTING MARK of Illyria. The Slavs, started their incursions into the Balkan Peninsula in the 6th century and had by the end of the 7th century the territory lost the Illyrian language and were thoroughly Slavonized. For Albanians in the 21st century to reclaim a dead culture since ad 395 is pure stupidity and intellectual ignorance, like moving all history back to the Stone Age in order to reclaim territory... However, it is rather difficult to ignore the fact that for the past thousand years the Serbs were the major population of Kosovo where they built over a thousand churches in an area the size of Los Angeles. Even before WWII Serbs represented nearly 60% of Kosovo. After that war their numbers were reduced to 40%. With the most Draconian communist system in the world next door in Albania the Albanians continued to escape the communist oppression as they crossed the border into Serbia in greater numbers as illegal aliens...today 42% of Kosovo is made up of illegal Albanian emigrants. It is estimated that during WWII over 300,000 Albanians entered Yugoslavia to fight for Hitler and the Nazi cause. The forced expulsion of Serbs in the 1970s and 1980s of over 150,000 Serbs devastated the indigenous Serbian population, something that the media tends to sweep under the rug in writing about Kosovo and Serbia. However, Serbian history proves that their rulers over the centuries, unlike those in the West, did not built enduring castles—each one of them felt duty-bound to build monasteries and churches and over the centuries hundreds of them were built. Serbian Kings and rulers were not praised in their biographies for warfare and conquest, but primarily for their piety, beneficial endowments, and especially for building of churches and humanitarian institutions with the intent to achieve personal salvation and benefit their people in a lasting way. Most appalling of all is the fact that during Titos 15 years of granted Autonomy the Albanians occupied all the leading positions on the Committee of Education, Science and Culture; the Teaching Council of Kosovo; the Institute for Education; the Institute of History; the Academy of Arts and Science and the Society of Authors. In all of these institutions the positions were occupied exclusively by Albanians...the educational system became ethnically pure and driven by racism and hated. Even the film industry in Kosovo has not made a Serbo-Croatian movie in 25 years. In Kosovo every teacher, lawyer, judge, policeman, doctor, government official and politician was Albanian. The Albanian authorities in the 1970s gathered up all the books in Kosovo schools and libraries related to Serbian culture, religion and history and burned over 2 million books and thousands of priceless manuscripts. The images shown here are but a few of the Christian churches that have been destroyed by Muslim fanatics and racists. Serbians requiring NATO protection to bury their dead is only the tip of the iceberg considering that Serbian cemeteries are being destroyed and coffins brought out of the ground in order to destroy the bodies inside. It only adds to todays ISIS sick Muslim mentality. In an article in the New York Times, Steven Kinzer interview Professor Ismajli of Pristina University who made outrageous claims that Albanians have 2,000 years of history in Kosova and can trace their culture to the Illyrians. There is simply NO HISTORICAL Documentation for making such preposterous revisions of history. In America we treated the black people with this level of contempt and racism and can clearly see the results today in Missouri where many blacks still feel disenfranchised or discriminated against. In the Los Angeles school system we teach children in more than 30 languages. Our election ballots are printed in 5 languages yet in Kosovo the Albanian majority refused to recognize the language and educational needs of its Serbian and Greek minorities resulting in a Civil war and an amputation of sovereign Serbian territory by utilizing the same disgusting and evil methods we see today by ISIS...the complete liquidation of anything Serbian...and in that process over 400 ancient Serbian churches have been destroyed since the end of bombing in 1999 and tens of thousands of Serbs and other non-Albanian minorities forced to flee. It makes ISIS look like childs play today. Or, maybe ISIS is taking their cue from the miserable Albanian Muslims in Kosovo?
