ad infinitum .... The bond between Carmen and Dizzy had always been very strong throughout their lives. After her album dedicated to Thelonious Monks compositions,Carmens intention was to record a project based entirely on Dizzy Gillespie songs-as well as songs on which Dizzy left his stamp.Unfortunately,due to the bad turn that her health took,this project never saw the light. But we have the recordings and videos of many collaborations between these two absolute Masters of Modern Music.Carmen always preferred to sing this lyric to Round Midnight,written by Jon Hendricks and based on Dizzys version and inflections of the melody.She performed it way before recording it on the legendary album Carmen sings Monk.
