again, heres that same blank up first inspection out of the oven. its still in the mold. the mold is k23 firebrick cemented onto regular wood stove brick (cut into the correct shape of course), cemented to a kiln shelf. the inside of the mold is lined with 2 layers of 1/4 inch thick ceramic infused felt, held in shape with stainless steel home made clips. if the process isnt done correctly, molten glass on the oven floor, or a ruined blank can happen. I know from experience. molten glass is very hard to contain!
