ahhh!!! marriage!!! What a great idea God came up with. I love being married even when it gets challenging and we resort to intense moments of fellowship! God COMMANDS him to LOVE me and COMMANDS me to RESPECT him. Men and women are wired so differently and even if we never left the coziness of our own home, God has enough material to work with to test us and mature us in most areas of our faith. HE takes a woman thats worn not only the unmarried hat for over 20 yrs and the management hat for probably 30 yrs. and asks her to be adorned with a gentle and quiet spirit that HE sees as beautiful, and it all requires love, patience, mercy, obedience, submission, and forgiveness to name a few things. HE takes a man who has an attorney/legal background, that is used to dealing in facts not emotion, who worked alone in his personal quiet space writing RULES and REGULATIONS for the railroads of america and did not have to deal with many people or emotions and asks him to love his wife as Christ loved the church...HE brings us together and as iron sharpens iron we learn how to be married Gods way. There has to come a dying to self and obedience to God and when we get it right there is a wonderful liberty and love and respect for each other that is good!!! Love really grows in this walking in the Spirit.When I learn to love God more than I love myself, love flows horizontally to my husband and others with much more ease! God also has let me learn that marriage, even to the greatest husband, can NEVER fill the void that GOD means only for HIMSELF. That wisdom from God, takes a great stress off the marriage. My husband learns tenderness and love and leadership and I learn gentleness, respect and love. God is so wonderful to use this idea of marriage to teach us so many good things!!!
