although tomorrow isnt the first day of school for my children, it is for many of their friends. thus, i am feeling a bit nostalgic and thoughtful about them. both are in middle school, and i am well aware that their peers are becoming as influential (if not more) on them as john and i are. i am currently at peace and very proud to know that both of my kids have, thus far, chosen their friends wisely and that i really like their friends. my impression is that their friends are good, kind, caring and honest. ive heard stories about middle school girls, but i spent several hours today listening to catharine and friend talk happily and positively about school and their classmates. addys friends all greet me with smiles and are polite and respectful (no, they are not eddie haskells). so, cheers to all of you parents of my childrens friends who have guided your children and please God let my children continue to make wise decisions! i wish everyone a fabulous, positive school year!
