are celebrating three birthdays today. First singer-songwriter-musician Carmine Appice best known as the drummer for Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, and the power trio Beck, Bogert & Appice. His best-selling drum instruction books The Realistic Rock Drum Method and The Ultimate Realistic Rock Drum Method are among the best of the genre. Second, singer-songwriter Cindy Birdsong (1939) best known as a member of Patti LaBelle & the Bluebelles, but most famous for replacing Florence Ballard as a member The Supremes. Finally, singer-songwriter-musician Dave Clark. Dave wasnt the frontman or the lead singer, he was the drummer but he led the band to huge success. With 15 Top 20 hits in row and more appearances on the Ed Sullivan show than any British band they are true rock icons.
