bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-24824007 Flying in the face of everything youve ever been told about the chances of alien life. Should this estimation hold up I think we can finally stop talking about it in terms of if. To be honest even with longer odds, I was already tired of the fact that beliefs that we are the only life in the universe are still entertained. Can we stop that now? Can we just conclude that the chances of us being alone in the universe are now so vanishingly small, that we can now stop ignoring the conclusions of modern astronomy to avoid upsetting believers of ancient mythology? I really think its time now that we threw away any uncertainty concerning life in space. Time to let this new information change our image of the cosmos and our place in it. Im pretty sure it will be a beneficial change. Around 20 billion habitable worlds in our galaxy alone. Can we start investing in space science properly now please? Its not like we have the excuse of being worried we wont find anything anymore.
