Did this make the Georgian dictator a friend of the world after having annhilated countless of his own men and women, and spreading communism further than it had before? No! But we rejoiced at the weakening of the Third Reich anyway because its one evil averted. Likewise, we befriended the South, but not the North of Vietnam and Korea. West but not East Germany, and today a Ukraine torn between 2 military superpowers who no longer conceal their zeal for greed and power.
