.. born and raised in Guyana (South America); there is somewhat of a small local scene here w/ unfortunately no visits from any major label (foreign based) rock acts and w/ the exception of neighbouring Suriname, Trinidad and Brazil (..etc!); one of each of their unsigned exports ... .. Barbados and Jamaica had a couple of acts that were of a becoming [ having; heard some recorded material ] and were seemingly promising ... .. Trinidad (though known as the land of Calypso); is what Ill like to refer to as the rock n roll capital of the Caribbean [ besides being; one of my fave. holiday destinations ] the isle-country republic has seen a huge scene of varied rock-fusion (metal) genre[s] surfaced over the period of the past 10 years [ bands; showcasing much finesse in their musicianship ] and not forgetting to mention; hosting a number of major label (foreign based) acts, Helix to Six Feet Under and came 2008 (during a visit); @ the Queens Park Savannah [ I was fortunate to have seen the Scorpions ] my first and only concert to date [ ...it was a double treat ] as one of the ambassadors of the Trinidad rock/metal scene were the more than cheerful opening act ... here they are ..the web: youtube/watch?v=lgEj2fYFOuw
