call for applications: artist residences, the observatory, spud - winchester Following on from the success of the Exbury Egg (exburyegg.org) SPUD is continuing to develop residency opportunities for artists to engage with specific areas of our environment and the landscape. The Observatory is a sculpture, a workspace, a shelter and a look-out, for artist residencies over 2 years in 4 locations. The Observatory will enable artists to interact with the landscape and develop a body of work connected to each place and context. Artists will be drawn from a broad range of disciplines and will need to be prepared to share their practice with the public. SPUD has secured funding for the first 6 residencies which will begin in Winchester in January 2015 for six months before moving to Lymington in July 2015. 3 artists will undertake residencies in each location. The work produced will form part of an exhibition or presentation to audiences in each location.
