#capitalism #whywecanthavenicestuff #capitalismforcapitalismssake Summary: High frequency traders have gotten to the point over the past seven years where they take advantage of microsecond delays caused by the actual physical distance investors are from the multitude of exchanges. Essentially they are able to see buy and sell orders just as they are happening and buy or sell just ahead of those investors. At this point, HFTs are paying to be physically housed as close as possible to the black box stock exchanges or to get other forms advantage (such as secretly digging a straight line tunnel for fiber optic between Chicago and New Jersey). This in terms leads to a very unstable system. Commentary: Capitalism has become a parasitic entity. It has gone from being a tool to serve humanity and a thing which only serves itself. Sure, it rewards those who serve it, but over all it exploits the rest of humanity for its own existence.
