:::climbing up on my soapbox::: Hero. Who are the first 10 people you thought of when you read that word? Sadly, many names spoken would include: favorite sports players, famous people because theyre the offspring of famous sperm-donors, musicians, actors and any number of the gabillion people in the world that are extremely famous and extremely over-payed. When these heroes suddenly get injured, lose a title role in movies/television, sleep with the wrong person based on fans reactions, or die too early because they are so heavily over-medicated they accidentally overdose, they are swept aside and then considered washed-up or has-beens and then replaced by more undeserving heroes. Brittany Maynard. Death with Dignity. Do you recognize that name? Do you know what death and dignity is? I wish you would know both. She is a true hero. Id like to ask yall to take 6 minutes and 31 seconds out of your overly-busy schedule to get to know and understand both. Trust me, its something that will touch the most iron-clad heart and will most likely bring tears to your eyes and will definitely make you think what you would do if you were in her shoes.
