closing out 2014 w/ the live of my life: Dan Anderson & travel. The Jordan valley lays beneath us, deep inside the red mountains below is buried the ancient city of #Petra. Dormant for thousands of years, finally a Swiss explorer learned Arabic and convinced the local Bedouin tribes to show him the city he only heard about in echoes and myths. Despite everyones objections (dont go to the Middle East not on your own, no tour group just you- are you crazy ?!) luckily for me my husband shares my passion and need for real travel, learning, experience & exploration. Weve traveled for 20 days now to finish here, standing in a truly untouched country over an unpopulated slice of history. We learned about many cultures, witnessed real boarders and met incredible people from different religions and tribes and views. Its the perfect way to put a stamp on 2014. Well start the long journey home again, by camel, jeep, car, foot over the boarder, more car and then a two stop flight home. #happyNewYear #2014 #travel #discover #see #plan #learn #evolve This was my 30th country and it was perfect! As 2014 comes to a close, I must look back and be gateful for all of it. Planning ahead I try my hardest to take into account my human spirit, my love for things new, exotic and sweaty.
