Cuza University, 700506 Iasi, Romania Abstract: It is suggested that the lack of not enough self-confidence of women in research careers in sciences and engineering has the roots in the toys used. Playing together with boys, with the same technically enough toys, girls will get more self-confidence concerning technical matters. Such a toy is presented: Driven Spinning Top. Being a completely new device a deep analysis of the all effects on the school population is needed. Driven Spinning Top is magic, interactive, educative, and scientific and improves patience, attention, perseverance, self-confidence, and coordination hand-eye, technical and practical skills and is suitable for school children of all ages and is equally liked by girls and boys. The present idea is intended to help reducing the gender gap concerning STEM fields.
