doTERRA Essential Oils are SO pure! doTERRA verifies that the plants are grown free of chemicals. They buy oils from growers that they select, train and monitor from all over the world. For example, Lavender comes from France and Frankincense comes directly from Oman. After the oils are obtained, they are processed in the manner best suited to that individual plant. Then they undergo third party testing in two independent labs to certify that every single batch of oil is pure. Every batch of oil is tested with both the GC and MS tests. doTERRA also performs additional tests that are not performed by most companies. ... They test the essential oils against bacteria, viruses, and mold and tests the oils potency. doTERRA is committed to obtaining oils from the original source and performs a test to make sure the oil is of organic origins. It also identifies the species of plant the oil comes from and whether or not it comes from one source. Some oil producers will isolate a particular element found in, lets say Geranium, which is also found in Frankincense. They will take that element along with other frankincense elements that are found in other oils and make a cocktail of sorts and call it “frankincense oil” when in fact it isn’t at all. doTERRA also tests that there are no synthetics, impurities or chemicals. If a batch does not meet this high standard, it does not make its way into bottles. I don’t know if there isn’t another company out there with as high a standard as doTERRA, but I do know that I can trust doTERRA and when I am looking to use essential oils instead of medications it is really important to me that I can trust them.
