Head profile distinctively low compared to COLO, with a clear demarcation between black and white from below the very small necklace or chinstrap. Back uniformly black and clearly a much smaller Loon that the Common which has a larger bill and often blurry about the throat. This bird was seen diving and floating to the north north east of the point. The bird landed in a young pine tree along edge of the parking lot where I had a great view of it. Catharus thrush with the typical drooped wings stance with brick red tail contasting with rest of the upperparts. Very obvious yellow coloring on breast. Appeared ever so slightly larger than the sparrows.
