#eccentric_training Eccentric training is characterized by a training stimulus with which the load is broken. It is a training with which the used musculature is not shortened, but is stretched. Eccentric training (also called negative training) is a method which allows realizing movements with 30 to 40% more weight than ordinarily (concentrically method). For example, when heavy weight is slowly let down to the breast and is raised by the training partner again. Also downhill running is an eccentric training. Actually there exists a different training system which allows an eccentric training. An ergometer which is driven by an engine, the pedal movement must be braked (Eccentric cycling trainer). In addition, weight training systems are for example the Eccentron ™ - negative Resistance trainer and the Metitur eccentric trainer. We find natural eccentric movement phases, e.g., with going downhill or by jumping down from a chair.
