ets set some facts straight: 1.The Indian people have done a great job by letting the passage of relief/aid through the Indian subcontinent.A lot of Indian people have pitched in and helped. 2.The State Govt(which is puppet of the Indian govt) has been incapable of doing anything. 3.The Indian Govt efforts have been substantial.However,they have fallen short. 3.Any foreign help in relief/recovery would have been a a blessing in this catastrophe but,for the Indian Govt,relief/recovery became a prestige point at the expense of the loss of lives. Therefore,international assistance was denied,and to boost its false pride,India offered help to Pakistan. 4.Whatever little the Indian Army did in rescue/relief was captured by the Indian Media in a a Bollywood style cinematography. 5.Three days into the disaster, seasoned journalist Burkha Dutt had the gall to ask if the rescue mission would be a turning point for the army in Kashmir on her show on NDTV, and a guest on TimesNow declared that the Indian army stands “vindicated” for the 60,000 thousand deaths in the valley mourned by those with an anti-Indian stance, because it has saved that number and more in the floods. 6.The State Govt not only failed to help whereit could have,it also hindered relief for a few days by asking for a NOC from the Resident Comm,New Delhi or DC Srinagar before any non govt aid was allowed.The govt had exclusive rights to the life and death of Kashmiris,as always. 7.Had the India Govt not supported puppet regimes in Jammu and Kashmir,maybe the current political scenario would have been averted. 8.The Indian Government NEVER had a clear position on Kashmir. On one hand it says Kashmir is an Integral part of India. But then,it also lets the United Nations Military Observer Group sit at Srinagar. 9.India supports the pro-India puppet regimem 10.Pakistan supports the pro Pakistan leaders. 11.No one asks the Kashmiris themselves what they want,in a referendum. 12.Neither India OR Pakistan have even considered the Kashmiris right of self determination and the option of complete freedom in the previous UN Resolution on Kashmir. 13.Kashmir is just a piece of land for both India and Pakistan.Kashmiris now are no better than the Kashmiris that were sold along with cattle and the land during the Treaty of Amritsar. 14.Kashmir ,an integral part of Indiastill has its own Constitution . 15 Comparing Kashmir to states of India is like comparing Scotland to England. 16.If the Govt of India had played its cards right,Kashmir would have had internal autonomy(like American States or Canadian Provinces) without puppet regimes.However so much blood has been shed of innocent Kashmiris that India has lost its chance of that. 17.Indias biggest problem with Pakistan is not Kashmir;its the Partition of India on religious grounds which,in my opinion,was the stupidest mistake that the British allowed which resulted in Kashmir becoming the bone of contention. 18.There are only two perspectives on Kashmir. A:The Indian/Pakistani one.. B:The Kashmiri one.. A will never solve the issue. B is the path to a solution.
