#ferguson I have no dog in this race but FAIR AND IMPARTIAL - TopicsExpress

#ferguson I have no dog in this race but FAIR AND IMPARTIAL JUSTICE for Michael Brown and for Darren Wilson. If it was a bad shoot, there must be justice served for the death of a teenager. If it was a good shoot, Officer Wilson is entitled to public vindication. Im skeptical of people proclaiming they are positive of the answer to that question - we havent seen the entirety of the evidence. The selective leaks (from the very beginning) are ridiculous and serve simply to stir up chaos and confusion. Im supportive of releasing information - have been since the start - let them release a set of information PUBLICLY, not by having unnamed law enforcement sources briefed on an investigation run around to reporters providing third hand information that is selectively provided. This is a strange way to run a candy store and Ive thought all along the Missouri AG should have taken over. Unfortunately, for reasons passing understanding, the St. Louis County DA seems to be hell bent on making this process difficult. I read a stat from a law professor indicating most homicide grand juries take 1-3 days to reach a probable cause determination. I can see a week or two, but months? It leads to the presumption that the DAs office is attempting to inundate the Grand Jury and that this is an exercise in not getting an indictment on the one hand (presuming a bad shoot), and on the flip side, prolongs Darren Wilsons ordeal if it was a good shoot. Neither is fair. For justice to be done, there must be fairness and transparency. If a fair and transparent process in the State and Federal investigations concur that Officer Wilson did nothing wrong, he should have the benefit of that vindication - if the reverse is true, he should face a jury of his peers. The way this is being handled would lead me to wonder about the outcome whatever that may be. In my opinion, someone needs to hire St. Louis County a media relations consultant reporting to the county executive and the county supervisors who is the single point of coordination for what gets released to the press - no more sneaky anonymous unnamed sources scurrying about to reporters - thats not justice its amateur hour.
