for those not on The Linford family page (please like it when you get a chance) Jack had been suffering from a sickness bug on Friday 26th Sept. from having VLCAD this caused problems due to the fasting and lack of fluids. he was admitted with a drip. Saturday he was discharged and back to his normal playing happy self. That evening he started with a bit of upset stomach again. He was settled and asleep and appeared to have got over it after a few hours again. Sunday morning Jacks blood sugars had dipped a little so we were preparing to go to hospital. within a few minutes his brother Alex said he sounded funny. On observation, Jack wasnt breathing. He was taken to A&E by ambulance immediatedly, given CPR several times then he started to wake. he squeezed my hand so tightly and started kicking the doctors away as they were pumping him with fluids. As with a diabetic Alex and Jack have blood sugar issues. your average blood sugar should be around 4-7. Jacks was 0.7. he suddenly stopped breathing again and was put into an induced coma to rest his body. he was very sick. they took him for a CT scan and as they came back they prepared us for the worst. The plan was then to go to Sheffield Childrens for immediate neurosurgery to release the pressure on his brain. As we got there the doctors came with the devastating news Im very sorry but Jack is so sick that im afraid there is nothing we can do devastated didnt even cover it. I couldnt breathe, I gipped and ran off and screamed, I felt like my heart had been ripped out. After a few hours had past we had Jack christened in ITU and we made the brave decision to help another life by organ donation. to cut a long story short Jacks kidneys were the only thing to be transplanted. So now you know the story and we ask that you help and support us by raising awareness with us! No parent should have to bury their child, especially such an innocent 2yr old. We have a fund up and running in the name of Jack Riley Linford. paypal - lauralinford@ymail we want to thank you for all the help that has already been given. Feel free to share our story and spread it around the world!
