found this plan This will be approx a 50 mile hike with 10 mile days. Shortcuts will be made if not making good time. First off the Isle Royale National Park is on a island and to get there requires YOU to purchase ither a round trip plane ticket ($300) or the round trip ferry ticket ($100). The ferries and sea plane takes off from northern michigan. See official website for exact locations. Day one--- We will start at Windigo ranger station after recieving the ranger lecture and head for the island mine campsite crossing Sugar mountain. Once in camp we can take a quick walk and check out the historic island mine copper mine. Day two--- we will set off from Island mine campsite and hike to Lake Desor camp site. Along the way we will cross Mount Desor! Day three--- we will head to Hatchet Lake campsite with a stop at the watch tower for scenic views of the island and lunch. Day four--- we will hike to Mccargoe Cove campsite. (Good area for spotting the elusive wolves of the island) You can also take a short hike to the Minong mine. Day five--- we will hike to Daisy Farm campsite stopping at Mount Ojibway and the viewing tower, amazing pics of the coast and a good spot for lunch. Day day six--- we will hike to the Rock Harbor ranger station and resort. This leg of the journey is along the coast and passes the Siskowit Mine a scenic place for lunch. If arriving early enough you may be able to catch the ferry or sea plane if you wish to leave that night. Day seven--- If you choose not to catch a early ferry or plane ride home I suggest staying the day. Day hike and check out the east side of the island. Showers and laundy can be done here. There is also a fine restaurant at the resort open to all and a grill open to all. The rangers at rock harbor also give lectures and
