Last Chance for 2014! At the Ready To Run sale I bought a - TopicsExpress

Last Chance for 2014! At the Ready To Run sale I bought a stunning Fastnet Rock colt out of the stakes winning mare Apple Charlotte who was good enough to win Black Type in Europe. Since the sales this colt has been in work at our Matamata stables and has really impressed everybody who has ridden him. Occasionally at a sale a horse gets under everybody’s guard and this colt sure did when I was able to buy him for just $200,000… less than the service fee. He’s very athletic, well balanced and should be ready to trial in about 6 weeks and race in February. The race I bought him for is the 2000 Guineas next year at Riccarton, last year in the race we had finished 2nd with Chambord to Atlante. What does this Fastnet Rock have in common with Atlante? They are both by Fastnet Rock and both made $200,000 and both came from the Ready To Run sales. The 2000 Guineas has been a great race for establishing a stallion and 3 of our 4 Guineas winners are successfully standing at stud this season. Kings Chapel is standing at stud in South Africa. Darci Brama is standing at The Oaks Stud for a service fee of $30,000 plus G.S.T. Rock ‘n’ Pop is standing at Waikato Stud for $9,000 plus G.S.T and our other runner was Tell A Tale who won the race when it was worth 1 million dollars but of course he was a gelding. We have won the Group One 1000 Guineas three times, so we won 7 in the last 10 years which makes me feel like I have a pretty good idea what it takes to win that race. There have been some good judges that have bought into this colt and he is one of my absolute favourites! I only have 10% left so you are welcome to have 5% for $10,000 plus G.S.T or the 10% for $20,000 plus G.S.T. The Fastnet Rock colt that we had in the 2000 Guineas this year was Rockfast who ran 2nd - look out for him in the NZ Derby he is a great chance of getting another Group One for the best sire in the Southern Hemisphere.
