from Sister Alison McCrary: In the coming days, I continue to visit and accompany 70 year old Chris Sepulvado on Louisianas death row as his Feb 5 execution date approaches. I met Chris about 9 years ago when I was working on his legal case and am now serving as his Spiritual Advisor. If you have a moment on Monday morning, please consider calling Louisiana’s Catholic Governor Bobby Jindal at 225 342 0991 and ask for clemency for Christopher Sepulvado because the taking of human life further perpetuates a culture of violence, because we are a people of forgiveness and mercy, and because the taking Chris’ life this Wednesday will not enact justice, bring the life back to anyone else, nor provide true healing, reconciliation, or peace to those involved. You may also email the governors office of constituent services at [email protected] . When I read the article below this morning, I didnt know whether to laugh or to cry when I read that Prison officials have taken precautions in case anything should go wrong, however. They have arranged for a gynecologist to be in attendance. Chris called me from death row as I was reading it so the guys on the row are getting a good laugh this morning at the news in the midst of a rather dark time at Angola.
