from the other side. These are the comments of two listeners: Joseph565112 This must sound pretty devastating to someone who has never worked in international relations, taught political science, etc. Heres your free lesson: The US has backed / owned the House of Saud for over 35 years, and Saudis have been funding Wahhabis and Sunni extremists generally well before 9/11. Now, fast-forward to 2009 - present, Obama and the US as whole (particularly young Americans) have been taking a much more relaxed approach to Iran - not falling prey to Saudi and Israeli war propaganda, beginning to normalize diplomatic relations, etc...partially at the behest of the EU, as countries like Italy are in dire need of cheaper energy which they could get from Iran if buying their oil wouldnt get you on the US and UK shit list. This has the Saudis worried (as well as the Israelis) considering that less than 30 years from now, a wholly new group of americans will be middle-aged and running the country. Thus, to put it more frankly, the Saudis and Israelis fear the US recognizing as a matter of policy what is already true - that Iran is the regional hegemon in every sense - with an increasingly liberal and educated population (which is also very young at the moment, but whose day is also coming). Reply · Leonard Stetz Electrifying intensity! A spectacular,well-deserved royal ass-chewing.....God Bless.
