from village of port fairy has had long tradition of fishing ,in northern prawn fishiery from cairns to broome at top of australia many young men women who skills taught by many traditional fishing families set off to become skippers cookes deckies 1st mates engineer etc ,over the years the port fairy and district people who set off north have repuatation as best workers cookes spkippers ,deckies in one of most advanced fisheries in world ,and most sort after ,i didnt take pathway but many others have ,in its day over 300 boats trawling for prawns banana ,tiger,the top skippers or catching vessels where skippered by port fairites crews etc ,its wonder doco has not been done on this fishery as deadlest catch as in tropics ,cyclones crocs etc ,my 3 brothers where very successful as others port fairy lads ,nephew young lucas as to get appreciation of hard work etc is doing this year ,the boy becomes man ,he got another week of surf sun etc then tiger prawn fishing ,all reports doing his dad proud and many port fairite who taken adventure ,,,,,,good learning curve and he appreciates what his family has given him ,me i failed at carnvon in western australia ,17 hitching hiking around australia ,got job on one ,sea sickness back few days later land lover this brother ,,,,
