good one.....this has been obvious for the last 10-15 years if not more...and now the apology....please. how about enough with the education business and start directing people towards careers based on this alleged economy "boost" radio and tv commercials are boasting about....or is that even a true statement in its self?!?!......thanks....(for the debt, false pretences and diminished dreams). i only say the this because i am working on assisting students to learn how to educate themselves based on deduction, analyzing, creativity, ownership and determination. we cannot give all universities credit for the "introduction into how to learn" because with learning comes application. i noticed there was never a moment in my post-secondary education to indicate they were teaching me solely on a learning basis. it was definitely fruitful to have such knowledge at my fingertips and inspiring educators, however, the student services and other admin failed to encourage direction. no matter what - we need that! without learning how to USE our knowledge and again "how to learn" it was difficult to transition into real life. it acted as a cushion, a very expensive cushion...which my generation and the ones prior and thereafter were heavily encouraged to entertain for future success. i respect and realize the notions of higher education, not-to-mention appreciate the opportunity to pursue it. it would simply be advantageous for institutions to exemplify realistic avenues in respect to career opportunities on a broad spectrum. to learn transferable skills is an extremely valuable trait. where to utilized these skills most effectively is the imperative part! ------------------------------------------------------------------ (sorry for the rant...could go on...there is certainly a solution to all this as well!) positive vibes!
