grief pt 2 the Red Cross Doctor who was supervising was a Pakistani man, and he was just as rocked to his core as everyone else. He told me he was horribly worried about his family back home, fearing that we were about to unleash holy hell all over the middle east and rain bombs on his family. I told him that I thought this was entirely new and not regular war at all. I told him that Americans are really good at creating whole new technologies and strategies; whole new ways of looking at things. Its what were *best* at. I had no confidence in George Junior, but I didnt tell him that. I told him that we had some amazingly smart people who realized that this had to be treated differently; that yes, there would absolutely be a *strong* response. That we had the entire world with us. we had no need to throw bombs around. Whatever we did would not be what was expected. It would be *new*. It would be considered. it would be done soberly. and it would bring those responsible to justice in the bright light of day for all the world to see. and we would have closure without harming any innocents. I told him we would take the chance to show them we were smarter; that we were *better* than them. I was wrong. Everyone knows grief has stages. this one is called anger.
