had a nightmare come true. the fox season is heavy right now in my neighborhood. no more night time walks for my cats (do you guys know if fox are more nocturnal, could i still walk in the day time?) I was walking 3 of my cats, Trico was a bit behind, and all of a sudden i see him running towards me, which kind of surprised me, he doesnt really run hard (hes my big boy). and then i see movement behind him, i thought MAYBE sushi came along, but then realized it was too big and it had big ears. 2 foxes were right behind him. i panicked and started springting towards him and ti scared the fox away, but then i left my other 2 cats behind and i stood there in the middle of the street standing under the street lamp and called all my cats to come to me. Trico was so freaked out he was under a car at this point, and my other two clueless babies come towards me all chill, and i scoop up the SLOWEST one (BRUCE), bc he would have no chance running from a fox, and then i was there back and forth trying to figure out what to do, and calling out to Irod, but the house was too far, and i didnt bring a phone with me......... i saw a fox 2 houses down and i kept trying to make noise, i wasnt sure if it went away. so like any movie at a climax point i decided i had to make a decision. I put bruce under my arm like a football and i SPRINTED to the house, and i got there threw him in the house, and called Irod to follow me fast. Ovi ran right behind me, and i had Irod put him in, and then i ran back to get Trico, and i saw that he freaked out when he saw i ran back home and as i ran back he was just getting out from under the car and started sprinting towards me, but he got spooked and went under the next car he saw......me and irod had to coax him to follow us....he RAN to the next car....i guess he decided he will run car to car ( he is so dramatic - i think he got it from me)..... we all made it home...and i learned my lesson. i feel sad for my cats bc i will not let them roam outside alone anymore. and walks will be with one cat at a time so i can grab and run easily. ugh. next project is building fun cat shelf jungle in the house so they will not be depressed about not getting to play outside. i hate closing them into the house, i feel like i am imprisoning them. sigh. but a neighbors cat got killed by a fox so im not taking the chances, and all my neighbors lately have been warning me about the foxes....i got enough signs from the universe, and i had told irod i would not let them out anymore, but they guilted me into opening the windows again the past 2 days......now MOMMY IS FIRM! Universe threw a much bigger sign today so i stop ignoring the signs.
